SOURCES & INTEGRATIONS
How this guide gets its information.
We prefer official or primary sources for practical information and use APIs for dynamic travel inventory and local events.
Primary visitor information
Opening hours, free entry, public toilet information and garden notices are based on the Musée du Louvre's official website. Transport information also references official Louvre directions.
Events
The “What's on” feed uses the City of Paris “Que Faire à Paris ?” open-data calendar and links visitors back to event pages.
Booking.com accommodation
The site includes a server-side integration layer for Booking.com's Demand API. When an approved API key and affiliate ID are set in Vercel, searches are centred on Tuileries Garden coordinates and sorted by distance ascending. A second details call can retrieve property names and photos.
If those credentials are not configured, the site uses a normal Booking.com destination search rather than pretending to show live prices. Booking.com links may use affiliate tracking through CJ Affiliate when that advertiser relationship is active and tracking has been enabled.
Paris tours
The tours section is ready for the Viator Partner API. With an affiliate API key set in Vercel, it retrieves Paris products dynamically; otherwise visitors are offered a normal Paris tours link.
Map & weather
Map presentation uses OpenStreetMap. Live weather uses Open-Meteo.
LIVE DATA & DISCOVERY FEEDS
How dynamic content is sourced.
Current event listings are drawn from the Ville de Paris “Que Faire à Paris ?” open-data calendar. Nearby headline discovery uses Google News RSS links and sends visitors to the original publishers. Weather comes from Open-Meteo. Accommodation and tour cards can be supplied by Booking.com and Viator when the relevant affiliate/API credentials are connected.
The news feed does not republish full articles. Optional AI notes are short visitor-focused summaries based on feed metadata and should be treated as pointers to the original reporting.
